Roger N Jones
Roger Jones is a Professorial Research Fellow at the Victoria Institute for Strategic Economic Studies (VISES) at Victoria University, Melbourne. He leads a small team who work on climate-related risk, ecological and institutional economics and research into practice. The group applies a transdisciplinary approach to understanding and managing risk that bridges science, economics and policy. Roger previously worked for Australia’s CSIRO for 13 years, developing methods for climate risk assessment. Qualified in earth science, he has worked on urban ecology, been a museum curator and technical essayist, public radio host and researcher working on past, present and future climates and their impacts. He was Coordinating Lead Author on the chapter Foundations of Decision Making in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Working Group II Fifth Assessment Report. He was also Coordinating Lead Author on the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report and a lead author on the Third Assessment Report.
Oriol Jorba
Oriol Jorba born in Barcelona (Spain, 9 July 1975), Industrial Engineer (Technical University of Catalonia - UPC-, Barcelona, Spain, 1999); Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering (Technical University of Catalonia -UPC-, Barcelona, Spain, 2005). In 2005, he was enrolled as researcher at the Earth Sciences Department of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, and in 2008 moved to the Atmospheric Modelling Group Manager position at BSC. Since 2016, he is senior researcher of the Atmospheric Composition Group at BSC. He has participated in projects funded by the European Commission and the Spanish Government on air quality, aerosols, and in the application of atmospheric modeling in HPC. He has lead the research project on the development of the multiscale chemical weather forecasting system NMMB-MONARCH which is the official model used by the Barcelona Dust Forecast Center (BDFC), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Regional Meteorological Center specializing in Atmospheric Sand and Dust. As scientific reviewer of the Scientific Commission of the Spanish National Research Program, his research expertise includes high resolution mesoscale meteorology and air quality, development of online meteorology-chemistry models, boundary layer, atmospheric chemistry studies and environmental impact assessment.
Melanie Kah
Melanie Kah graduated with a MSc in Agronomy and Soil Sciences (University of Nancy, France), before completing her PhD on the fate of ionisable pesticides in soils (University of York, UK). She was then recruited by the UK Food and Environmental Research Agency (FERA), where she assessed the exposure and hazard of a wide range of contaminants, within projects commissioned by government and industry. In 2009, Melanie moved to the University of Vienna (Austria), where she developed projects looking at the interactions between organic contaminants and natural/engineered nanoparticles. Melanie was a Distinguished Visitor at the CSIRO Land and Water in 2018 (Adelaide, Australia), before joining the School of Environment at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) in 2019.
Mykola Karabiniuk
I work as an Associate professor of the Department of Physical Geography and Efficient Environmental Management of Uzhhorod National University. The scientific degree PhD (Geography) with a specialty in physical geography, geophysics and geochemistry of landscapes was awarded for the defense of a dissertation at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, which is devoted to the features of landscape organization and the efficiency of using the highlands of the Chornogora massif of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
I specialize in landscape diversity and evolutionary development of mountain systems, mapping and geoinformation analysis of the structure and properties of geocomplexes to determine the geoecological situation, as well as the problems of anthroposis of landscapes and efficient use of nature. For scientific achievements in the field of geoecology and the applied significance of the results of the study of the highlands of the Ukrainian Carpathians to solve environmental problems of the Danube region in 2021 I was awarded the Danubius Young Scientist Award. In 2025, based on the decision of the Certification Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Geography and Rational Nature Management was awarded. I am also a full member of the Ukrainian Geographical Society.
Bilal Khalid
Dr. Bilal Khalid received a Ph.D. in Industrial Business Administration from KMITL Business School, Bangkok, and a master’s in International Business Management from Stamford International University, Bangkok. Dr. Khalid's research interests include leadership and negotiations, digital transformations, gamification, eLearning, blockchain, big data, decarbonization, green entrepreneurial orientation, corporate social responsibility, sustainable management practices, and management of information technology. Dr. Bilal Khalid also serves as an academic editor at Journal of Computer Networks and Communication, Education Research International, and a reviewer for multiple international journals.
Kerstin Kröger
Dr. Kerstin Kröger is MPA Management Adviser at the Join Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) in Aberdeen, UK. She obtained her M.Sc from CAU University Kiel and PhD from VIC Wellington, NZ in 2004.
Dr. Kröger is a deep-sea ecologist with a special interest in benthic biodiversity and communities, the effects of natural and anthropogenic disturbances and pressures on such communities and their recovery trajectories. Furthermore, she is interested in management of the marine environment, in particular of offshore MPAs in national waters and the High Seas. In addition to this Dr. Kröger is involved in developing management measures for deep-sea mining.
Valsaraj KT
Former Vice President for Research & Economic Development, currently the Charles and Hilda Roddey Distinguished Professor in Chemical Engineering and Ike East Professor in Chemical Engineering, Louisiana State University. Elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). Recipient of AIChE/ACS Charles E Coates award in 2012. Research area is in environmental chemical engineering. He has broad research experience in wastewater treatment, atmospheric chemistry and, modeling the fate and transport of contaminants in all three environmental media (air, water and soil/sediment). Present research is concerned with the transformations of pollutants on atmospheric aerosols (fog, rain, ice and snow), mercury sequestration in sediments and, studies on chemical dispersant design for sub-sea oil/gas spill. He is the author of 1 widely accepted textbook (with four editions), 200 peer-reviewed journal articles, 27 book chapters and 2 U.S. patents. He has made over 250 national and international presentations and 28 invited seminars and plenary lectures on his research. His research has been supported by the NSF, EPA, DOE, DOD, USGS and several private industries.
Ida Kubiszewski
Dr. Ida Kubiszewski is an Associate Professor at University College London (UCL) in the Institute for Global Prosperity. Prior to this, she was an Associate Professor at Crawford School of Public Policy at The Australian National University. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA)
Dr. Kubiszewski was a climate change negotiator for the country of the Dominican Republic, following adaptation and loss & damage. She was a delegate at the 19th through 21st Conference of Parties.
Dr. Kubiszewski is the author, or co-author, of over 70 scientific papers and co-authored or co-edited six books. Her editorial work includes being the founding managing editor and current Associate Editor of a magazine/journal hybrid called Solutions, as well as a co-founder and former managing editor of the Encyclopedia of Earth. She sits on the editorial boards or advisory boards of various journals, including Ecosystem Services, Anthropocene Review, Energies, and PeerJ.
Anne Kuhn
Anne Kuhn holds a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Rhode Island, and has expertise in the field of spatial statistics and developing approaches for evaluating the relative risks from chemical and non-chemical stressors on spatially structured populations of wildlife species across. Anne develops and evaluates watershed indicators to reflect and predict aquatic condition in lakes, streams and estuaries. Her current research involves evaluating key intrinsic factors controlling watershed physical processes and connectivity, and quantifying watershed-level stressors (e.g., land use, stable isotopes of nitrogen and carbon, nutrient loads, climate change, etc.) that influence the condition and integrity of water bodies within watersheds.
Alban Kuriqi
Interested in interdisciplinary research, scientific writing, science communication, teaching, and offering consultancy for the industry. My core research interests and expertise include renewable energy—focusing on hydropower and complementarity resources, hydropower impacts, river restoration and management, e-flows, floods, droughts, climate change, fluvial hydraulics, sediment transport in open-channel flows; embankment structures; hydraulic structures; Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), long-term meteorological and hydrologic trends and variability analysis, ecohydraulics, ecohydrology, and artificial intelligence applications in the field hydraulics and hydrology.

Rodel D Lasco
Dr. Rodel D. Lasco has more than 35 years of experience in natural resources and environmental research, conservation, education and development at the national and international level. His work has focused on issues related to natural resources conservation, climate change and land degradation. Since 1999, he has been a lead author of several assessment reports of the IPCC, the 2007 co-winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. He is also a member of the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) in the Philippines.
He is a senior scientist at the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) since April 2004, a center devoted to promoting “tree on farms”. Concurrently, he is the Scientific Director of the Oscar M Lopez Center, a private foundation whose mission is to promote research on climate adaptation and disasters risk reduction. He is an affiliate professor at the University of the Philippines at Los Banos.
He is a multi-awarded scientist with over 80 technical publications in national and international journals dealing with the various aspects of natural resources conservation and environmental management. He pioneered research in the Philippines on climate change adaptation in the natural resources sector, the role of tropical forests in climate change/global warming, and the policy implications of the Kyoto Protocol.
