Guillermo Mendez-Rebolledo

Guillermo Mendez-Rebolledo received his Doctoral Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Science from Universidad Pablo de Olavide (2020), his Master in Health Sciences and Sport from Universidad Finis Terrae (2013) and his Bachelor of Physical Therapy from Universidad de Talca (2009). His research interest is Muscle Physiology and Motor Control with a special focus on Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy. Prof. Mendez-Rebolledo currently works at the Escuela de Kinesiología, University Santo Tomás (Chile).

Maurice Mohr

Maurice was born in Wuppertal, Germany and completed his undergraduate degree in “Sports and Technology (B.Sc.) at the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg in 2012. In 2013, Maurice moved to the University of Calgary, Canada where he spent the next six years working under the supervison of Dr. Benno Nigg at the Human Performance Laboratory. Following an internship in 2013, Maurice became a M.Sc. student at the Faculty of Kinesiology that same year and pursued a doctoral degree between 2015-2018. His work in Calgary focused broadly on the study of lower extremity movement and muscle activation during athletic tasks with specific application in the field of knee injury rehabilitation. During this time, Maurice also conducted research for Biomechanigg Sport & Health Research, a company supporting clients in the sporting goods and health industry. Maurice completed his PhD in Biomechanics at the end of 2018 under the supervision of Dr. Nigg and co-supervision of Dr. Carolyn Emery. In 2019, Maurice started a Post-doc position at the Department of Sports Science of the University of Innsbruck where he worked in the “Neurophysiology Research Group” of Prof. Peter Federolf. Currently, Maurice is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sports Science in Innsbruck and works at the intersection of biomechanics, motor control, and training science to help prevent knee injuries in sports.

Roxana Ramona Onofrei

Onofrei Roxana Ramona is Professor at „Victor Babes” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara, Department of Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine and Rheumatology and member of the Research Centre of Assessment of of Human Motion, Functionality and Disability. She works as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist at the Sports Medicine Clinic - „Pius Brinzeu” County Emergency Hospital Timisoara. Her main research activity focuses on balance, gait and postural analysis.

Mark A Robinson

Mark’s research interests are related to musculoskeletal loading, injury and impairment in the lower limbs. Of particular interest are lower limb injuries, monitoring of training loads, gait and biomechanical data analysis. He has published >70 journal articles in these areas and has >90 verified reviews. He hosted the 2022 conference of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports in Liverpool.

David Rodríguez-Sanz

Dr. David Rodríguez-Sanz is a professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.

His main research interest is focused in the field of foot and ankle, muscle, tendon, biomechanics, sports.

Hugo Sarmento

My work broadly focuses on the performance analysis, training load monitoring, match analysis, small-sided and conditioned games, and physical activity and health. Research in this area has been supported by qualitative and qualitative methodologies, in order to capture the dynamic and multifactorial reality that characterizes performance in sport. Although most of my research focuses on football, I am interested in the study of other sports, especially team ball sports, on which I have also developed several research works.

Aaron T Scanlan

Dr Aaron Scanlan is an Associate Professor in Exercise and Sport Sciences at Central Queensland University Australia. Aaron is the Lead for the Exercise and Sports Science Rehabilitation Research Cluster and an Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Accredited Exercise Scientist and Accredited Sport Scientist. Aaron's research is multi-dimensional, exploring various aspects of exercise and sport with particular interest in applied topics among team sports. Aaron is specifically recognised as a world leader in basketball research and has collaborated extensively with researchers from various countries as well as industry bodies at regional, national, and international levels.

Nuno A Silva

Nuno Silva completed his BSc in Applied Biology (2007) and received is PhD in Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells from the University of Minho in 2012. His PhD work consisted on the development of novel approaches for Spinal Cord Injury Repair (SCI) based on biodegradable materials and stem cells. His PhD was carried out in the 3B’s Research Group and in the Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research of the University of Toronto. In 2012 he started a post-doc at ICVS dedicated to study the best therapeutic combination to treat the injured spinal cord.

In 2014 he was able to capture national competitive funding and started his own lab. Currently, his team is fully focused on research about SCI, from solving fundamental questions about how SCI affect the systemic immune response to design technological advanced therapies to treat this condition. The team is presently constituted by 1 post-doctoral fellows, 1 MD-PhD student and 5 PhD students.

He is currently an author of 44 papers published in international peer-reviewed journals and is an author of two patents. Nuno Silva has currently more than 2700 citations and an h-index of 23. Additionally he is author of 7 book chapters and has more than 60 communications in national and international conferences. He supervises/supervised 25 post-graduation students. Finally, during his research career, Nuno Silva was able to capture more than two million euros of competitive funding, either in research projects (1.8M) or salary grants (438K). He was honored with international funding from the Wings For Life Foundation and the La Caixa Foundation.

Antonie J (Ton) van den Bogert

Antonie (Ton) van den Bogert is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and the Parker-Hannifin Endowed Chair in Human Motion and Control. His current research interests are the dynamics and control of human motion, with applications in sports and rehabilitation.

Marcus Fraga Vieira

Prof. Marcus Vieira is the Bioengineering and Biomechanics Laboratory head at Universidade Federal de Goiás. He received BS in Electrical Engineering and Physical Education from the Universidade Federal de Goiás, and MSc and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Universidade de São Paulo. He focuses his research in computational neuroscience and biomechanics, especially in motoneuron modeling, spinal CPG, nonlinear tools for movement variability analysis, including entropy, fractal dimension and recurrence analysis, coherence analysis in postural control, transitory tasks such as gait initiation, and gait dynamic stability.

Vanessa R Yingling

Dr. Yingling is a professor in the Department of Kinesiology at California State University, East Bay. Her undergraduate degree was in Bioengineering from the University of California-San Diego. She obtained her master’s degree in Exercise Science from the University at Buffalo and her Ph.D. in Kinesiology (Biomechanics) from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She trained as a post-doctoral fellow for 2 years in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Yingling’s research interest is “How to grow a strong skeleton - The effect of exercise and loading on bone structure and strength. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health.
