Diego F Gomez-Casati

Dr. Gomez-Casati received his Bs in Biochemistry from the National University of Rosario, Argentine, and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Buenos Aires. He carried out postdoctoral research at the Chascomus Institute of Technology, Argentine, and Bordeaux 2 University, France. He was a visiting Scientist at California State University, Fullerton, USA, Laboratoire Microbiologie Cellulaire et Moleculaire et Pathogenicite, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Université Bordeaux-2, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Santiago de Chile and Centro de Biotecnología y Genómica de Plantas (Univ. Politecnica de Madrid), Spain. He was Professor of Plant Biotechnology at the National University of San Martín (UNSAM, 2000-2019). At the present, he is a researcher from the National Research Council, Argentine (CONICET), Director of the Plant & Algae Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Laboratory at the Institute for Photosynthetic and Biochemical Studies (CEFOBI-CONICET), Professor & Chair of the Biological Chemistry Department at the National University of Rosario and Vicedirector of CEFOBI.

Elena González-Burgos

Assistant professor of Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy at University Complutense of Madrid. Member of the Research Group “Pharmacology of Natural Products”. I obtained my European PhD in Pharmacy in 2012 (Extraordinary Doctoral Prize). I had worked for 3 years in the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS). Expertise in the study of natural products from medicinal plants and lichens as neuroprotective agents, based on their antioxidant properties, against different models of oxidative stress in cell lines of the nervous system (neurons and astrocytes). Author of many scientific publications (25 in indexed journals, 4 in non-indexed journals and 9 chapters of books) as well as communications in national and international congresses. I have participated as researcher in four National funded projects and research stays at prestigious international centers (King’s College of London and Neuroscience Center in Coimbra). Teaching experience at all levels of higher education in Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmacognosy subjects as well as experience in Educational Innovative Projects.

Ueli Grossniklaus

Professor of Plant Developmental Genetics and Assistant Director of the Institute of Plant Biology of the University of Zurich. Co-leader of the University Research Priority Program "Evolution in Action: from Genomes to Ecosystems". Past-President of the Zurich-Basel Plant Science Center. Recipient of the various fellowships, the Amerbach Award, a Searle Scholarship, and Awardee of an ERC Advanced Grant. Elected member of EMBO and the German Academy of Science Leopoldina.

Aarti Gupta

Dr. Aarti Gupta is a Research Scientist at the Institute of Genomics for Crop Abiotic Stress Tolerance (IGCAST), Texas Tech University.

She obtained her Ph.D in Plant Genetics and has expertise in the area of plant stress biology and plant molecular biology

Christophe Hano

Dr. Christophe Hano, completed his PhD in 2005 in Plant Physiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and is now Assistant Professor at the University of Orleans at Research INRAE Lab LBLGC USC1328 and a member of the Cosm'ACTIFS Research Group (CNRS GDR3711). His research career has focused on applied plant metabolism, plant biotechnology and green (bio)chemistry.

Currently, he is developing research projects aimed at studying plant secondary metabolism to lead to the development of natural products with interests in pharmacology or cosmetics. His research focuses on the green extraction and analytical methods applied to plant polyphenols, elucidation of biosynthetic mechanisms of plant natural products and their exploitation by metabolic engineering approaches.

Camilla B Hill

Dr Camilla Hill was awarded a Ph.D. in crop biochemistry and genetics (2014) from the University of Melbourne (Australia). Her main areas of expertise are plant genetics and genomics, analytical plant biochemistry, plant phenology and plant stress physiology. She has a strong background in using molecular and quantitative genetics as well as genomics technologies (metabolomics, next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics) to understand the impact of environmental stresses on plant growth, development, and grain yield potential.

Heribert Hirt

Director of the URGV Plant Genomics Research, Paris. Distinguished EMBO member, and President of EPSO, the European Plant Science Organisation. Recipient of the 2001 Wittgenstein Award. Editorial Board member of 7 journals.

Ute Hoecker

Professor of Molecular Plant Physiology at the University of Cologne, Germany, and Principle Investigator at the Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences (CEPLAS). My current research interests center on photomorphogenesis and light signaling in Arabidopsis.

Shanjin Huang

Shanjin Huang is a Professor of Plant Biology at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. His lab is interested in studying the structure and functions of the cytoskeleton using model plants Arabidopsis and Rice as the experimental systems.

Gwyneth C Ingram

CNRS Research Director and group leader in the Laboratory of Plant Reproduction and Development at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, France. Royal Society of London University Research Fellow, then lecturer at the University of Edinburgh, UK from 2000-2010.

Mohammad Irfan

Dr. Mohammad Irfan is a plant biologist having research interests in abiotic stress biology of crop plants particularly horticultural crops. During his doctoral and postdoctoral projects, he studied the fruit quality traits affected by abiotic stresses. In his current projects, he investigates the molecular mechanism underlying plant-specialized metabolic pathways and biosynthesis of high-value phytochemicals, such as anthocyanins and carotenoids of horticultural crops under abiotic stresses using transcriptomics, metabolomics, glycomic and functional genomic approaches.

Marcello Iriti

Dr. Marcello Iriti is an Associate Professor of Plant Biology and Pathology within the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Milan.

He has been studying nutraceuticals, functional foods, phytotherapeutics and essential oils relevant for human and animal health, focusing on their preclinical (in vitro/in vivo) and in human pharmacological activities. He has also been investigating the health-promoting effects of traditional Mediterranean diet as well as the ethnopharmacology of herbal remedies of traditional healing systems.

Dr. Iriti is a Member of the World Academy of Sciences, Asian Council of Science Editors and Society of African Journal Editors. Founding Member of the Italian Society of Environmental Medicine. Member of the Working Group ‘Pharmacognosy, Phytotherapy and Nutraceuticals’ of the Italian Pharmacological Society.
