Piotr Dąbrowski
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Improvement, Warsaw University of Life Sciences. The influence of habitat factors (with special emphasis on light, drought, salt and PAH’ contamination etc.) on the status and the development of plants and unicellular organism is the basic interest that affected the scope of my research activity. In my career I focused on determination of photosynthetic apparatus responses by chlorophyll fluorescence (prompt fluorescence, delayed fluorescence) and gas exchange analysis.
Timothy M Collins
Full Professor and former Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences at Florida International University. Director of FIU DNA Core facility. Past Program Director for NSF Division of Environmental Biology, Systematics and Biodiversity Cluster.
Research interests include: Molecular Systematics, Evolution, Biogeography, and Phylogeography: Rates, patterns, and mechanisms of molecular evolution , including nucleotide sequence evolution and mitochondrial gene order change, and consequences for phylogenetic reconstruction and reconstruction of ancestral states. Integration of molecular data with paleontological and morphological data. Using phylogenies to address biological questions.
Jean-Lou Justine
Professor of parasitology at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Paris, France.
A specialist of systematics of monogeneans and certain parasitic nematodes, also interested in parasite biodiversity in coral reef fish, phylogeny of Platyhelminthes and Nematodes, and land planarians. Curator of the collections of parasitic worms of the MNHN.
Former Editor of “Zoosystema” and “Mémoires du Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle”. Currently Editor of “Parasite”, an open-access journal.

Syed Mudasir Ahmad
Dr. Syed Mudasir Ahmad is a Professor at the Division of Animal Biotechnology, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, India. Dr. Mudasir has done his PhD in Biotechnology from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi and Post-doctorate from the university of California, Berkeley USA. He has more than 15 years of research and teaching experience. He is recipient of several national and international awards and fellowships. The areas of his research include Animal genomics and bioinformatics. He has been working on Animal health and production using omics approaches like transcriptomics, proteomics and epigenetics. The main focus of his research is to analyze gene expression across a wide range of different tissues and cell types from multiple developmental stages. He is using mammalian cell models to understand the regulatory mechanisms for gene expression of both coding and noncoding RNAs and their signaling pathways. He is also targeting Stem cells for tissue regeneration in animals. Dr. Mudasir is the author of many books in the field of his research. He is also editorial board member of several reputed journals.
Ada H Zohar
Ph.D. in Psychology and Behavior Genetics in 1989 from HUJI. 1990-1992 Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Yale Medical School in Psychiatric Genetics. As of 2000 at the Ruppin Academic Center (RAC). Research focuses on personality, psychopathology, and health. Currently her laboratory at RAC is running two longitudinal studies. A study of personality and health in adults, started in 2006, and a study of early childhood rituality and its developmental implications started in 2010.
Craig E Nelson
I am a microbial systems biologist specializing in the structure and function of natural bacterial communities in aquatic habitats such as coral reefs, lakes, streams, and the open ocean. My research broadly seeks to identify novel bacteria and understand their role in ecosystem processes and biogeochemical transformations. Much of my work centers around culture-independent phylogenetic and metagenomic characterization of natural microbial communities and measurement of biogeochemical processes and chemical constituents in the surrounding environment which regulate and are regulated by these microbes. I maintain ancillary projects understanding the microbiomes of eukarya (corals, humans, amphibians, macroalgae) and studying bacterial pathogens in natural waters in the context of water quality.
Mike Climstein
Mike Climstein (PhD, FASMF, FACSM, FESSA, AEP) is an Associate Professor who holds clinical and research appointments. He is currently Course Coordinator of the Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology program at Southern Cross University; Adjunct Assoc. Professor in the Physical Activity, Lifestyle, Ageing and Wellbeing Faculty Research Group, University of Sydney and Director of Aquatic Based Research at Southern Cross University.
Mike has 162 papers, 12 book chapters and 38 grants (internal and external funding) totaling in excess of $7.8m (AUD). His academic and clinical accomplishments have been peer-recognized having received Fellowship by Sports Medicine Australia (FASMF), American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM) and Exercise and Sports Science Australia (FAAESS). Additionally, Mike has received a number of awards for his research efforts. He is an editorial board member and reviewer for a number of exercise and sports science and clinical journals.
Mike’s research involves clinical exercise physiology/sports science, masters athletes, deleterious effects of aging and chronic conditions on bone health/segmental body composition. He is currently supervising PhD students in the areas of cardiac rehabilitation, world masters games athletes, surfing (bone health and exostoses; skin cancer) and biometric/smart clothing in clinical monitoring.
Nikolay A Poyarkov
I am a herpetologist working on diverse aspects of taxonomy, phylogeny and biodiversity of Asian herpetofauna. I have graduated from the Department of Vertebrate Zoology of Lomonosov Moscow State University and finished my PhD on taxonomy and evolution of Asian salamanders (Hynobiidae) in 2010. Presently I am working in this department as an associate professor. My study is focused on a set of topics on evolutionary biology and taxonomy of Asian amphibians and reptiles, including molecular systematics, phylogeography, DNA-barcoding, distribution and taxonomy of certain groups of Asian herps.
Magnus L Johnson
I am a marine scientist with eclectic interests including crustacean biology and fisheries, fisheries management generally, krill swimming behaviour, cleaner fish, coral reef systems, the relationship of marine commensals and their hosts and the eyes of shrimps. I work in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of Hull where I am the Director of the MSc in Environmental Change Management and Monitoring. I am a fellow of the Marine Biological Association and a board member of the Science-Art foundation "Invisible Dust".
Richard M Cowling
Professor of Plant Palaeoscience. Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Sciences (USA) and founding member of the Academy of Sciences of South Africa. Former President of the International Society of Mediterranean Ecologists and former Editor-in-Chief of Conservation Letters.
Curtis Daehler
Professor of Botany and graduate faculty in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Research interests include invasive species, plant-animal interactions, population biology, island biology, conservation and biogeography.
Jonathan C Thomas
I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Microbial Genomics at Nottingham Trent University and one of the curators of the S. epidermidis MLST database.
